Kehad Snydewel: Driving Namibia’s digital future with Green Enterprise Solutions

For more than a decade, Green Enterprise Solutions has been at the forefront of Namibia’s digital transformation journey. Under the leadership of managing director Kehad Snydewel, Green has grown from a small start-up into a technology powerhouse employing more than 100 professionals.

Today, the company is not only reshaping Namibia’s ICT landscape but also making inroads into southern Africa and beyond.

Founded in 2010, Green Enterprise Solutions was born out of the vision to establish a truly Namibian technology company capable of driving innovation.

"We wanted to create a Namibian powerhouse when it comes to technology, innovation, and really drive the digital aspect of where the world is moving to," Snydewel explains.

What started with just two individuals has since transformed into a thriving organisation housed at the iconic Old Power Station building, now taking up entire floors.

Initially, the company focused on infrastructure such as data centres, servers, networking, and storage systems.

In 2011, Green expanded into software development, offering customised enterprise solutions tailored to client needs.

This shift allowed the business to add greater value by helping organisations achieve their objectives through technology. Today, Green develops not only tailored systems but also its own products and platforms designed to service Namibia and the world.

People-focused growth

Talent development has been central to Green’s success. The company invests heavily in education and training, ensuring its employees have access to certifications from global partners like Microsoft, Oracle and IBM.

Snydewel notes: “We don’t have a budget on education,” emphasising that upskilling is seen as an ongoing necessity, not an expense. His own journey is a testament to this culture. He began as an intern at Green, rose through the technical ranks, and eventually became managing director.

Green’s approach to recruitment is equally people-focused. The company values attitude above all else, believing technical skills can be taught, but the right mindset cannot. Partnerships with universities ensure access to top talent, while a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion promotes opportunities for women in technical and leadership roles.

Looking ahead, Green Enterprise Solutions is aligning closely with Namibia’s Vision 2030 and national digital transformation strategies. The company works hand in hand with the information and communication technology ministry and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with national policies while contributing its expertise to shape frameworks for the future.

Leading edge

Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and cloud services form a critical part of Green’s growth outlook.

Snydewel believes AI and cloud computing will continue to drive efficiency and innovation, and Green intends to remain on the leading edge of these global trends.

At its heart, Green Enterprise Solutions is not just a technology company. It is a training ground for innovators and leaders. As Snydewel puts it, every employee is treated as a partner in driving the business forward, from interns to senior executives.

This philosophy ensures that Green continues to live up to its founding mission: building a Namibian organisation capable of making a lasting impact locally, regionally and globally.
