Petrofund appoints Shoki Kandjimi as head communications and stakeholder engagement

The Petroleum Training and Education Fund (Petrofund) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Shoki Kandjimi as the head of the fund's communications and stakeholder engagement office, effective 1 November. This newly established role highlights Petrofund's commitment to strengthening its communications efforts and further cementing stakeholder relations within the energy industry, especially when Namibia is preparing itself for the eminent development of the discovery of oil and gas.

Mr Kandjimi brings a wealth of experience in communications, public relations and stakeholder engagement, making him an ideal fit for this pioneering role. He has also served various organisations in similar roles, such as the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), and Poiyah Media. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and media technology and a bachelor of communications honours and is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in management at NUST.

His appointment marks a significant milestone for Petrofund as he will be the first to oversee and manage this critical function. Furthermore, Mr Kandjimi will be responsible for advancing Petrofund's communications strategy, enhancing brand visibility and ensuring transparency and effective engagement with stakeholders within the oil and gas sector and the public.

Therefore, we are thrilled to welcome Mr Kandjimi to the Petrofund team. His extensive expertise and fresh vision align perfectly with our goals of strengthening communication and stakeholder relations. His role is further essential in supporting our vision, which is to be the leading organisation building capacity for the upstream petroleum industry in Namibia. Mr Kandjimi can be contacted at skandjimi@namcor.com.na or via 264817524536/ 26461400443.
