Jaden van Rensburg finds solutions instead of waiting
At 21, Jaden van Rensburg is positioning himself as a young changemaker focused on one priority: creating opportunities for Namibia's youth.
His work spans IT services, tutoring, educational software and football administration, fields that may appear unrelated but are, in his words, "all connected by one purpose, helping young people reach their full potential".
Van Rensburg began by teaching himself IT and software development, motivated by the gaps he observed in his community. “I saw many young people struggling with access to education and opportunities. Instead of waiting, I started building solutions with what I had,” he says.
That mindset led to the development of a tutoring programme that has already supported dozens of learners, particularly in mathematics.
While improved academic performance is a key outcome, he places equal value on personal growth.
"The biggest change is confidence. When a learner starts believing in themselves, everything else follows.”
In the technology space, he has worked on educational tools designed to support learning management and track student progress. His aim is to make education more accessible and responsive, especially in under-resourced environments.
Beyond the classroom, Van Rensburg is also CEO of a football club, where he focuses on youth development through sport. “Football teaches discipline, teamwork and resilience. It’s not just about winning matches; it's about building character and creating pathways.”
His upcoming Van Rensburg Foundation will focus on providing basic necessities such as school uniforms and supplies. “Sometimes a child doesn’t need much, just the basics to show up with confidence and dignity.”
Despite facing limited resources and scepticism due to his age, he remains grounded in consistency and results.
“Start where you are. You don’t need perfect conditions to make an impact," he says.
Van Rensburg is equally clear about his mission moving forward: “I’m doing it for my youth. I will make sure we win, with or without government support.”
