Innovative entrepreneur Lenorice April dreams big
INTERVIEW | Lenorice April | Owner Gucci’s Foodies Lenorice April, also known as ‘Lucchi,’ matriculated from high school in Otjiwarongo in 2019.
She pursued a year of law studies but eventually dropped out in 2022 due to various circumstances and a desire to follow her passion in the beauty and culinary industries. In 2020, she first started her nail business, HouseOfLA.
Late last year, she opened her food business, Gucci’s Foodies.
April has always taken pleasure in preparing meals for her friends and family.
“It is a great way of showing my love and appreciation,” she said.
“And I later realised that not only do I love cooking, but I love cooking enough to feed a village! So that’s how we started from only making braai plates to now catering for big events,” she explained.
April sees Mexican, Thai and African food emerging in day-to-day lifestyles as people become more in tune with the diversity of foreign cuisine.
One common challenge she observes, not only in the culinary industry but also in many other industries today, is not just the lack of innovativeness but also the absence of persistence and determination.
One of the things that sets April apart from other entrepreneurs is her dedication to constantly improving and evolving her craft.
She is always looking for ways to elevate her dishes and create unique culinary experiences for her clients. This dedication to excellence has helped her stand out in a crowded market and build a loyal customer base.
Multiple passions
In addition to her culinary skills, April is also a talented nail technician.
She has combined her two passions to create a unique brand that offers both beauty services and delicious food. This dual focus has allowed her to reach a wider audience and create multiple streams of income.
In the future, April hopes to expand her business and open up a physical location where customers can come to enjoy her food and beauty services in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
She also plans to continue exploring new culinary trends and experimenting with different flavour combinations to keep her menu fresh and exciting. Overall, April’s journey from a law student to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to the power of following your passion and never giving up on your dreams.
By combining her love of food and beauty, she has created a unique brand that resonates with customers and sets her apart from the competition. With dedication, hard work, and a willingness to take risks, April has proven that anything is possible in the world of entrepreneurship.
“I believe that success in the food industry, or any industry for that matter, requires a combination of passion, hard work, and resilience. It’s not always going to be easy, but if you truly love what you do, you will find a way to make it work,” April stated.
