Dantagos Naomi Jimmy appointed as CEO of the Bankers Association of Namibia

The Bankers Association of Namibia (BAN) has appointed Dantagos Naomi Jimmy as its new chief executive officer, with effect from 1 July.



Jimmy brings over 20 years of experience to BAN, having worked across investment management, financial markets, corporate governance, and strategic advisory. She is the founder of Ndapunikwa Investment Management (Pty) Ltd and has held senior, executive, and technical roles at renowned institutions such as the Bank of Namibia, Alexander Forbes Investments, and IJG Securities. Her professional journey is marked by a strong focus on innovation, excellence, and long-term impact within Namibia’s financial sector.



Academically, Jimmy holds a BSc in International Management from La Roche College in the United States of America and is currently pursuing an MSc in Development Finance at the University of Namibia. She also holds an MBA in General and Strategic Management from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and completed executive training through the senior management development programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa.



Her leadership extends beyond professional and academic achievements. She has made significant contributions to governance and institutional leadership across various sectors. She has served as a non-executive director and trustee for organisations such as Simonis Storm Securities, TransNamib Holdings, Namibia Health Plan and Allan Gray Namibia. She currently serves as chairperson of the University of Namibia Foundation and is an honorary member of the Namibia Institute of Corporate Governance.

Dr Ester Kali, chairperson of the Bankers Association of Namibia, expressed her confidence in the new appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Jimmy to the helm of BAN. This appointment marks a defining moment for BAN as it continues to strengthen its role in fostering collaboration among financial institutions, regulators, and stakeholders, supporting financial resilience and Namibia’s sustainable economic development.
