Tracey Goagoses charts path to dream job, one day at a time

Tracey Goagoses is laying a strong foundation in the accounting field as an intern at the Namibian Estate Agent Board (NEAB).

Recently appointed as an accounting assistant intern at NEAB, she says she is gaining valuable experience while contributing to the organisation’s financial operations.

Her role involves supporting the firm's accountant with finance-related tasks, including bookkeeping.

“It entails assisting with accounting and finance-related affairs as well as the organisation of financial documents,” she explains.

Goagoses began her career at Light Accounting Services, where she worked as an accounting intern for over a year. The organisation, which focuses on business registration, gave her exposure to both administrative and financial processes.

“My duties included dealing with company registrations by taking trips to BIPA and NamRA while also doing internal accounting processing,” she says.

The experience proved both practical and personal in its impact. “I relatively enjoyed that job because of the flexibility and the relationships I got to build,” she shares. More importantly, it shaped her work ethic and self-belief. “Working in accounting helped me realise just how much I am capable of achieving… and how I can be better.”

Growth and future ambitions

Her transition to NEAB marks an important step forward. “I always knew that I’d reach highs in my career; I just didn’t think it would be this early on,” she admits.

“It gave me a chance to step out of my comfort zone, learn new skills, and build confidence in my abilities.”

Looking ahead, Goagoses has clear ambitions. She hopes to become a chartered accountant while embracing every opportunity for growth along the way. “That’s the destination, but I aim to take advantage of the opportunities offered to me on the way,” she explains.

Guided by strong values rooted in her faith, she strives to make a positive impact. “I wish nothing more than to reflect light and love in not only my working environment but also my social relationships,” she says.

As she continues to grow, her mindset remains grounded in purpose: “For a seed to grow, it has to die first.”
